Val di Sella: by bicycle at the Arte Sella park-museum

Valsugana is a true paradise for cyclists, already well-known and popular thanks to the presence of numerous itineraries including the famous Cycle Track.
Not far from this there is the Val di Sella, a small area completely dominated by green and where the traffic is practically inexistent. In the woods of this valley has been active ince 2002 an open-air art museum: Art Sella.

Over the years, the Art Sella project has enriched the local forest of contemporary artworks, attended by several Italian and international artists.
Art Sella includes a free and a paid areas. Of the first one is the “Art and nature path”, a forest trail of about 2 km along which are organized some works. Of the second one is the Malga di Costa and the Villa Strobele.
The proposed itinerary allows you to reach the entrance of Arte Sella.

It starts from Levitico Terme, easily reached by train or by car from Trento. Levico is a spa town offering all the comforts of a modern residential area and many natural attractions including the Lake and the Habsburg Park.
You exit the town by taking advantage of the Valsugana cycle path that runs along the River Brenta.
You will pedal in the direction of Borgo Valsugana, about 20 km away.

The pedal is very simple and pleasant, along the route you will find many bikegrills and bars ideal for a break.
After passing the historic center of Borgo Valsugana, head towards Olle on a dirt road. Now we have to face some demanding climbs (slopes over 10%) suitable for cyclists with a good workout.

The itinerary leads you right at the entrance to Art Sella where a thorough visit of the park-museum is required.
The return to Levico Terme takes place through a decisively steep path in the forest to deal with a mountain bike and with a bit of experience.
