Tour of the Lower Langa, cycling between castles and vineyards

Every cyclotourist takes the trip as an adventure, often pedaling in the most authentic and representative places in the area where he is.
The proposed route is exactly the ideal to breathe the true essence of Piedmont. The itinerary, about 68 km long, winds through the vineyards and the castles of Lower Langa, both are the intellectual result of generations and generations of Piedmontese.
The mileage development and the expected slope are suitable for cyclotourist with a good degree of training.

The Lower Langa bicycle tour starts and ends in La Morra, the country is a reference point for the production of Nebbiolo. The village also enjoys a spectacular panoramic position that allows you to admire a good part of the territory.

From here a short descent leads to Barolo, the town which takes its name from the famous red wine of Piedmont. Barolo also has a characteristic historic center of an equally impressive castle now hosts the regional winery.

The tour continues through the vineyards to Monforte d’Arbia, renowned tourist center of the area. It is convenient to leave the bike at this point and take a stroll in the spectacular old town of the year 1000. There are also numerous wine cellars and wine cellars where you can taste local wines.

They cross Dogliano, a production area of the homonymous DOCG wine, Serravalle Langhe, Sinio and Serralunga d’Alba. The latter are both characterized by the presence of a beautiful castle.

Another very impressive manor is located in the hilly town of Grinzane Cavour. This castle hosted for a long time Count Camillo Benso, today it is home to an important ethnographic museum and theater of the annual White Truffle Auction.

The last town that crosses before returning to La Morra is Verduno, wonderful viewpoint and wine production area.
