Cyclotourism in Norway on the Rallarvegen

The Rallarvegen is a cycle-pedestrian itinerary of about 82 km that crosses the Norwegian countryside from Haugastøl to Flåmsdalen. This is the old road used by the workers who built the local railway line. Renovated in “green road”, the road has become a popular destination for lovers of nature, relaxation and adventure.

The ideal is to split the path in half and complete it in two days, perhaps renting bikes directly to Haugastøl or by adhere to the luggage transport from one stage to another.
The local tourist office is at your disposal to provide you all the information.

The first section of the Rallarvegen arrives to the city of Finse, about 27 km from the starting point.
The track that reaches the city isn’t in perfect conditions so you have to pay attention to drilling, better to travel with an emergency repair kit.

In Fines there is the Hardangerijøkulen glacier, Norway’s sixth largest, a marvel not to be missed.

The cycle path continues for another 17 km in the direction of Vatnahalsen. As you progress the landscape becomes increasingly harsh and wild. The last stretch of the Rallarvegen is almost completely downhill, but in some places the trail becomes extremely steep and it is better to get off the bike to avoid bad falls.

The Flåmsdalen valley is wonderful, ideal for spending some days relaxing in the middle of nature.
