Cyclotourism between Bergamo and Lake Iseo

In the countryside between Bergamo and Lake Iseo there is an ideal bike path to explore Val Seriana and Val Cavallina through the Passo del Colle del Gallo.

About 94 km, you have to face in at least two days to enjoy with calm the local landscapes- The complete itinerary has three climbs, two very simple and short and one harder: that of Colle del Gallo (about 8 km).

The starting point is the lovely town of Lovere overlooking the far north of the eastern shore of Lake Iseo. Lovere is also ideal as a base for hiking in nearby Val Camonica. The trail goes south along the lake on a wonderful bike path.

The panorama that can be admired from the bicycle stretches over most of the lake, embracing, in particular, Mount Isola, the largest and highest lake island of the whole Europe.

When you arrive at Sarnico, the route goes to the east and proceeds for several km always on the plain to the populated center of Trescore Balneario in Val Cavallina.
After passing the country you have to prepare yourself for the first climbs planned by the itinerary.

Then downhill you reach the cycling track of the Val Seriana running parallel to the river Serio. Continue on the track for about 5 km then turn uphill to the right after the village of Albino. This climb is that of Colle del Gallo, the most demanding of the itinerary.
At the top of the hill there is a monument to the cyclist where a stop is in order.

The downhill from the hill is quite demanding with bends that require utmost attention. In a short time however, you reach the territory of Val Cavallina near Lake Endine.
Follow the lake profile for about 6 km and keep on the same direction back to Riva di Sotto on Lake Iseo. The route ends again in Lovere.
