The cycle path runs all in a slight descent because it follows the course of the river. It is also ideal for less experienced cyclists and families traveling with children.
The cycle trail is very busy, at least in the first section, well-marked with white and green signs and asphalted. Crossing several countries and climatic zones, before leaving you need to prepare a decent variety of cloth.

Along the path of the Mur River Bicycle Trail you have the opportunity to visit the wonderful natural areas of Styria and Salzburg.
You also cross two Austrian sites declared World Heritage: the town of Graz and the Eggenberg Castle.

The starting point is the Stickler refuge at approximately 1,752 m above the Hohe Tauern.
The Mur River Bicycle Trail continues along the local wine road crossing the Styrian thermal area: the spas of Loipersdorf, Bad Blumau, Bad Radkersburg and Bad Waltersdorf.
The tour ends in Legrad, Croazia, to the point where the river flows into the Drava.
