The Enns River Cycle Route

The Enns River Cycle Route runs through the provinces of Salzburg, Styria and Upper Austria for about 260 km. Still not frequented by cyclotourists, because it’s rather recent. The bicycle path runs between wild forests and small towns with authentic flavor.
It is a total immersion in Austria’s culture and natural landscapes.
It is advisable to travel the cycle path in summer or late spring and divide the trip into 6 or 7 stages.

The track is predominantly hilly with some challenging climbs and is therefore suitable for cyclists with a minimum of experience and training. Although is the last one born, the Enns River Cycle Track is perfectly equipped for cyclists. There are numerous rest areas, bike storage, hotels and restaurants along the way. It is also well recognizable and signaled with green signs.

The track starts at Flachauwinkel, but the closest and easiest city to get to is Radstadt. Here the bike path is surrounded by mountains, lakes and streams, but continuing down the valley the landscape changes and you meet lush meadows and peaceful countryside villages.
Before its end, in the town of Enns, the route crosses many Austrian art and history cities such as Schladming, Admont, Trautenfels and Steyr.
