Discover Barcelona by bike

Barcelona is one of the most popular Spanish cities in Italy. Well connected with many Italian airports and also with the ports of Livorno and Civitavecchia, Barcelona is a destination full of charm and possibilities.

The best way to explore the city is by using a bicycle. The city’s bicycle-sharing service was one of the first experiments of the kind in Europe, launched in 2007. There are currently about 6,000 bicycles available but are for the exclusive use of residents.

However, Barcelona does not miss bicycle rental services, which also offer guided tours of the old town.
One of Barcelona’s most popular attractions is the Sagrada Familia, the famous church designed by Gaudí, the Ramblas, the harbor, the beach and the colorful Boqueria market.

The city is also surrounded by low hills that offer interesting insights for those who want to stay fit. For example, the Pedralbes Monastery, north of Barcelona, is an easily reachable and not too demanding destination. Alternatively you can challenge yourself along the ascent leading to the Montjuic Castle. From here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city and the harbor.

Ideal starting point for all bicycle tours in Barcelona is Plaça de Catalunya, where is located the Tourism Office. At the office you can pick up the calendar of bicycle initiatives taking place in the city, including tours and guided tours.
