The Valsugana Cycle Track is a cycle-pedestrian path of about 80 km that winds between Trentino and Veneto.
Being an itinerary that develops almost exclusively in the plain, it is particularly suitable for bicycle touring with the family. Valsugana is also crossed by the railway line which allows you to alternate the bicycle to the train.
The best time to venture along the Valsugana Cycle Track is from April to October. In spring and summer, nature around the bicycle awakens and becomes the protagonist of the landscape.
The cycle route begins at Pergine Valsugana, near Lake Caldonazzo, and ends at Bassano del Grappa. Along the route you will cross small villages and towns surrounded by vast pastures and scented orchards.
Shortly after leaving the quiet shores of the lake, the track begins to follow the course of the Brenta River and will not abandon it until the arrival at Bassano. In Levico, about 10 km after start, you will find the first bicigrill of the route, these facilities offer cyclists refreshments and mechanical support in case of minor breakdowns. Over time they have become a meeting point for local cyclists and can provide useful advice and information about the territory.

Continuing to pedal along the river you overcome the ruins of Castel Selva and the majestic Forte Vezzena then you arrive at Novaledo and then to Borgo Valsugana, one of the most characteristic town of the valley. About 20 km later, after crossing Ospedaletto and Grigno you reach the locality of Tezze where there is another bicigrill ideal for a stop.
You then cross the border with Veneto and the bike path narrows, becoming a gangway running parallel to the waters of the river between the high rocks that close the valley. It’s a very impressive stretch.
As you approach Bassano del Grappa, cyclists turn into a secondary road that at peak times can be very busy and therefore requires more attention. Arrival in the city marks the end of the journey, do not miss a walk on the Alpine Bridge and a tasting of grappa!
